DeLinda Fitch was the lucky winner of HER Magazine’s drawing for a day of pampering. Fitch attended the News Tribune’s Taste of Home event in November and put her name in the bowl along with 150 others.
A long time educator with the Jefferson City Public Schools, Fitch served as a special education teacher and spent 17 years as the assistant principal at the high school. Now retired, she enjoys traveling and is very active in Learning and Retirement, serving as the chair of their membership and marketing committee.
She recently had surgery so spending a day at Catherine Crum The Salon & Spa was a perfect way to relax and unwind.
“It was a wonderful treat,” she said. “The people at Catherine Crum could not have been more helpful and accommodating and were extremely nice.”
Fitch also loved the outfits picked out for her from Dillard’s.
“I always need a pop of color and clothes that work with my petite frame,” she said. “My favorite colors are royal blue and black so I was excited when I saw that the outfit I would wear was those same colors, it was spot-on.”
The Style
Hair – Terra applied an all over color with highlights and lowlights to create dimension. Catherine cut the hair using clippers, scissor and detailing with a razor. Clippers were used at the nape and scissors and razor through to create texture. Hair was blown dry using hands and a large round brush blowing in all directions. Aveda phomollient and hair potion was applied to create volume and thickening tonic to expand the hair diameter. A small amount of Aveda control paste was used to piece together sections of hair and finally a finishing touch with air control hairspray for a light hold.
Makeup – For her complexion, bareMinerals complexion rescue moisturizing foundation was used to enhance her complexion and then covered by a fairly light matte powder foundation. Terra used bareMinerals eyeshadow to softly line the eyes and lash domination to enhance fullness of lashes. For contouring, bareMinerals warmth bronzer was used and blush was applied on the apples of her cheeks. Aveda lipstick created the perfect red lip.
Clothing – The HER team chose several outfits at Dillard’s for DeLinda sight unseen, and she ended up loving both the casual and dressier look. Since she is drawn to more tailored clothing, she looked sharp in the Kasper Chevron Print Tweed Mandarin Collar Long Sleeve Jacket ($129.00) over the Petite Straight Leg Pleated Front Solid Stretch Crepe Pants ($79.00). She also wore a Kasper V-Neck Satin Shell ($59.00). The outfit was complimented by a Brahmin Melbourne Collection Mini Asher Croco-Embossed Tote ($235.00).
Since she is retired, DeLinda is also adding more casual wear to her wardrobe and looked comfortable yet stylish in the Ruby Road Open Front Faux Shearling Vest ($45.00) and Petite Embellished Ballet-Neck Static Patchwork Print Knit Top ($40.00) worn over the Kasper Petite Slim Straight Pant ($69.00).
